Prof Jabir Husain

Jabir Husain is an Indian writer, historian, and former politician. He was a former professor of English at RD&DJ College Munger. He was actively involved in the Total Revolution of 1974 led by Jayprakash Narayan, which resulted in his suspension from the university. Later, he entered politics and won a seat in the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 1977 and became Health Minister in the Karpoori Thakur government. He was also Bihar State Minority Commission Chairman and Bihar Legislative Council Chairman from 1996 to 2006.An accomplished author, Husain has written over two dozen books in Hindi, Urdu, and English. He also edited more than 50 rare Urdu-Persian manuscripts. His literary achievements have included the Sahitya Akademi Puraskar in 2005 and the Vishwa Hindi Samman in 2012.
