A massive earthquake rocked Bihar on 15 January 1934 killing thousands of people. Mahatma Gandhi believed that the earthquake was a punishment from God because people in Bihar were agitating against his attempts to abolish untouchability.

As it turned out, the Qazi who had brazenly threatened Sheikh Nizamuddin Auliya passed away suddenly just two weeks after. And the entire coterie of ulemas was dragged off to Daulatabad by the mercurial Muhammad bin Tughlaq in 1328. Most of them never returned to Delhi: A few died on the way, many more perished after reaching Daulatabad. The city of Delhi, too, lost its lustre: It turned into a ghost town when Muhammad bin Tughlaq decided to shift his capital, and though efforts were later made to rectify the damage done, the city never quite returned to its former glory.
Army of Shah Shuja did not manage to stand in front of Aurangzeb’s massive army although technologically they were more advance but tactically He was much dwarf then his younger brother Aurangzeb. Shah Shuja lost the battle and left for Bengal and later Arakan.

During the Bengal famine, Sahir Ludhianvi wrote a poem which has a couplet:

In India, the same year, O’Shaughnessy completed 21 miles of a telegraph line wrapped around trees and vast stretches which included a river crossing of 4 miles as an experiment.
Democracy is an occidental idea. A Hindu cannot comprehend it as long as he is a Hindu. It is against his religious belief. The divisions of Varna are the basis of his religion. He cannot see without distress a Brahman or Kshtriya serving a Sudra. A Brahman may beg or even may die, yet he will never touch a dish from which a Sudra has partaken food.
